Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DomSpade Pro, operated by an independent software developer (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), handles information in connection with the website located at domspade.com (the “Site”) and the downloadable Domspade Pro desktop software application for macOS and Windows (the “Software”).
We believe in extreme privacy and transparency. Domspade Pro was built from the ground up as a local-first desktop workstation. Our primary architectural goal is to ensure that your domain research, target acquisition lists, wholesale prices, and deal negotiations remain strictly on your own machine and never touch our servers.
1. Core Architectural Principle: Local-First & Zero Search Telemetry
Unlike web-based registrars or SaaS domain platforms:
- Zero Search Query Logging: When you search for domain names, run dictionary sweeps, or scan drop lists, queries travel directly from your local computer to authoritative root registry servers (via RDAP and UDP/TCP DNS sockets). Your domain searches never pass through our servers and are never logged, monitored, or stored by us. This completely eliminates any risk of search front-running from our platform.
- Local SQLite Database: All your saved portfolios, renewal dates, cost-basis records, buyer contact lists, appraisal notes, and deal pipelines live in a private SQLite database stored on your computer hard drive.
- No Access to User Data: We do not have access to any of your domain portfolios, search histories, or business notes, except for the securely stored, encrypted backup file system described below.
2. Information We Collect on the Website
Our website (domspade.com) is hosted in the cloud to provide user accounts, checkout, and software license provisioning. When you interact with our website, the following minimal information is collected:
- Account Data (via Clerk): When you create an account, sign in, or manage your license keys, your authentication details (such as email address and authentication tokens) are securely handled and stored by our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Billing & Transaction Data (via Dodo Payments): When you purchase a Domspade Pro license ($49.00 USD), order processing and billing are managed by Dodo Payments as the Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments collects necessary payment card information, billing address, and tax information. We do not collect, process, or store your credit or debit card numbers on our servers.
- License & Workspace Activation Data: To verify your perpetual license and manage your 1-workspace seat limit, our cloud server records your license key, activation status, and a unique cryptographic device identifier generated by the desktop software.
3. Automated & Manual Cloud Backups
Domspade Pro includes a cloud backup feature designed to protect you against accidental local hardware loss or drive failure:
- Backup Triggering: Automated cloud backups are performed upon software initialization and repeat at scheduled intervals. You can also trigger a manual backup snapshot at any time directly from the workstation interface.
- Safe Cloud Storage: Backup archives are transmitted and safely stored in the cloud in an encrypted state.
- Decrypted Only With Your License Key: We use your private license key to decrypt the backup file. The Developer cannot inspect, read, or browse the contents of your backup archives.
- Responsibility: Because backups are tied to your valid license key, you should keep your license credentials safe. We cannot decrypt or reconstruct your database if your key is lost.
4. Sensitive Data & Third-Party AI API Keys
Domspade Pro features an AI Domain Assistant and automated brand generation operating under a Bring Your Own Key (“BYOK”) model:
- Local Encryption: Any third-party API keys you enter into the software (such as OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter, or Anthropic keys) are encrypted and secured locally on your computer using AES-256.
- No Central Relay: API requests for domain brainstorming are sent directly from your desktop machine to the respective AI provider endpoints. Your sensitive API keys and brainstorm prompts are never routed through, collected by, or stored on our servers.
- Third-Party Handling: Your interactions with third-party AI providers are governed directly by the privacy policies and terms of those respective providers.
5. How We Use the Limited Data We Collect
We only use the minimal information collected for the following legitimate business purposes:
- To provision, authenticate, and validate your software license key;
- To enable seat transfers when you move your license to a new workstation;
- To facilitate encrypted cloud backups and restore operations upon request;
- To process customer support requests and 7-day refund inquiries sent to contact@domspade.com;
- To protect against fraudulent chargebacks, pirated license keys, and unauthorized distribution of our compiled binaries.
6. We Never Sell or Rent Your Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information, search queries, or portfolio data to any third party or data broker.
We only share minimal data with trusted infrastructure service providers strictly as required to operate our web storefront and license portal:
- Clerk: For secure user registration, multi-factor authentication, and session management.
- Dodo Payments: For order billing, tax remittance, and payment gateway processing.
- Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For reliable hosting of our website and encrypted backup storage.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses only essential, strictly necessary session cookies required for authentication (via Clerk) and secure checkout (via Dodo Payments).
We do not use invasive third-party cross-site tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or data profiling networks. The desktop software itself contains zero tracking cookies and zero behavioral ad trackers.
8. Children's Privacy (Minimum Age 13)
Our Site and Software are not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately at contact@domspade.com so that we can promptly remove the account and associated records.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account and license key records for as long as your license remains active to ensure you receive lifetime updates and customer support.
If you request a refund within our 7-day refund window or request permanent account deletion, we will deactivate your license key and delete your account details and stored encrypted backup archives from our cloud storage, subject only to any legal or accounting retention obligations imposed by law.
10. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have legal rights regarding your personal information under data protection laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right of Access: You may request confirmation of the personal data we hold about you (primarily your email and license key).
- Right to Rectification: You may request that we correct any inaccurate account details.
- Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): You may request the deletion of your account and associated encrypted cloud backup files.
- Right to Data Portability: Because your domain portfolio data is already stored locally on your machine in an open SQLite database, you always retain full, direct, portable access to all your business data at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@domspade.com.
11. Security
We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard the limited data we maintain. Website communications are encrypted via industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). Encrypted cloud backups use strong AES-256 encryption, and local sensitive data (such as AI API keys) is secured on your device.
However, no transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your workstation credentials, license key, and local operating system security.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the Site or Software after revised terms are posted constitutes your agreement to the updated policy.
